Dear Parents and Carers,

The term is certainly in full swing with many excursions, incursions, academic and sporting activities happening.

Our Year 4s have safely returned from their overnight camp at Aldinga. I would like to thank the teachers and parents who attended the camp for their generosity in enabling this opportunity to take place. If you have ever been responsible for the welfare of someone else’s children, especially overnight, you probably have some insight into the level of responsibility undertaken by the teachers during camp. Having said that, the opportunity to attend camp is one of the highlights of primary school for most children. I am so pleased our R-6 students now have this opportunity.

Mini Vinnies – Students will be promoting the Winter Appeal in two ways this term:

Inviting the school community to donate non-perishable foods that will be collected by our local Tea Tree Gully conference.

Inviting members of our community to send a handwritten letter to someone in need this winter to let them know that we are thinking of them and that they are not alone. These letters will be delivered by St Vincent de Paul volunteers with the hampers.

Further details will be shared with students at Assembly and when Mini Vinnies representatives visit classrooms later this week.

Last week a bright yellow Enrolment Census form was sent home via the eldest child in every family.

The purpose of the census form is to assist us in planning for the 2020 year, particularly class structures and teacher employment.

Your cooperation in completing and returning the form by Friday 14 June is greatly appreciated. Any forms not returned will be followed up with each family.

Additional forms can be collected from the front office.

Expression of interest forms for both Basketball and Netball have been sent to all classes from Yr.2-Yr.6 and are also available on the Skoolbag App.

Students currently playing on a school team will also need to complete a form to continue with their current team.

If you are not playing next season, please let me know so that I can fill your spot from the waiting list.

Volunteers

When new teams are formed we rely on the generosity of our parents to coach/manage the team. Please consider taking on this role or sharing it with another parent. Many thanks in anticipation!
