Staff Changes

At the start of the term we also welcome back Tony Cinigilia, now teaching year 4C. Tony has replaced Cameron Brealey who is now teaching in Year 6B every Friday.

I’m also delighted to introduce Cassandra Figg who is working with Debbie Graeber each Thursday in the finance team and Kylie Ryan, our new WHS Officer, replacing Nicola Black who has commenced maternity leave.

Bright Stars

Last Friday eleven eager students commenced their Bright Stars journey at Saint David’s. This delightful group of students have already begun to explore STEM during their Playful Learning session. Many thanks to Elena Lanzilli who transforms this space each week and provides these children with a positive start to their education at our school.

As we move into Term 2, the staff of Saint David’s continue to foster a love of learning and inspire each individual child to achieve their full potential.  Communication between home and school continues to be a priority, therefore please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any concerns or questions.

Building Update

It was exciting to come back after the term break and see the extensive progress on our new building.

Over the next two weeks, weather permitting, the main structure of the building should be erected, concurrently with external site works, including drainage, which will continue to be worked on. Additionally, formwork for the suspended first floor is scheduled to commence! Please look out for updates on our dedicated Facebook page Saint David’s PS Construction Project.

Mother’s Day

I know many students have been busy this week making something “special” for their Mums for Mother’s Day. For those who are able to make the celebration at school, I know your children are very excited.

Unfortunately, Melissa Harrison – Chair of our Board, and myself are missing the Mother’s Day celebration on Friday. We will both be at a Deputy Principal Panel Training as we begin the thorough process of appointing a new Deputy Principal, to commence at the start of Term 3.

For those who can’t make it, have a wonderful day on Sunday, I’m sure the gifts from your children will make you smile. (I have a drawer full and still treasure the efforts made by my boys)

Best wishes for the week ahead.

Leanne

A Prayer for Mothers

God, you have gifted mothers with many wonderful attributes that deserve our praise and thanks.

Today we honour all mothers and ask your continued blessing upon them.

For the gift of motherhood

For all mothers-

For mothers who bring to birth new life –

For tireless days and sleepless nights

For nurturing and gentle care

For every thought and every prayer

For the lessons given over many a year

For time, attention and a listening ear

For picking us up when we’re feeling down

For guiding our actions, for showing us how

For all their patience, generosity and love

For strength and courage when times are tough

For being there always in sickness or health

For being concerned for our spiritual health.

We thank you for our mothers Lord, for their comforting words and deeds

Be with them in this special way as we pray for their every need.

Amen
