Our Learning Environment

Our students learn best when they:

  • Are engaged in their learning and see its relevance
  • Feel safe, happy and secure
  • Are supported by both home and school
  • Work in collaborative teams with teachers and students
  • Feel valued and experience success

Our curriculum engages with them in a way that ensures their academic development and our specialist and co-curricular program allows them to develop beyond the classroom.

Bringing out the best and supporting students

At Saint David's School, every face has a place!

We take our commitment to education very seriously and that means bringing out the best in all of our students. We celebrate the uniqueness of each individual and work with our students and families to unlock inherent strengths and characteristics.

Our team of support staff for students with special needs, in collaboration with class teachers, provide specific programs based on individual needs depending on whether your child needs to be extended further or supported with learning challenges.

To meet the needs of our accelerated learners, our students are given the opportunity to participate in:

  • International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS).  ICAS are independent skills-based assessments with a competition element.
  • Tournament of the Minds - A problem-solving programme for teams of students.

Our ongoing commitment to inclusive education is behind a number of learning initiatives:

  • Learning Assistance Program (LAP)- support staff work with students who need additional help in this area.
  • Perceptual Motor Skills Program
  • QuickSmart - Literacy & Numeracy program
  • Creative Play Club
  • Small classroom group work and one on one support is also provided as required
  • Speech Therapy and one-on-one tuition can be facilitated on site on an individual needs basis on approval by the School Principal.
