About Us

An Overview of Saint David's Parish School

  • Saint David's Parish School first opened on February 7th, 1977.
  • Located in Tea Tree Gully, Saint David's offers a competitive local primary school option for families living in Adelaide's North Eastern suburbs.
  • Student facilities include our brand new multi-level, early years building, a large multi-purpose gymnasium, athletics track and oval, nature play garden, sensory classroom, well stocked library, music suite with private tutor spaces and our covered courtyard and integrated sandpit positioned at the heart of our school.
  • We are a warm, R-6, co-educational Catholic primary school with current enrolments sitting around 350 students.
  • We celebrate diversity with our families coming from diverse cultural backgrounds, diverse family groups and diverse economic situations.
  • With 85% of our families identifying as Australian, we also have families identifying as Chilean, Croatian, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Lebanese, Polish, Welsh and Russian among other backgrounds.
  • While the majority of our students come from local areas, we are seeing increasing numbers of students coming from the Adelaide Hills regions.
  • We offer a number of specialised programs to address the diverse learning needs of our students. We provide programs to target motor skills development, social skills, literacy, numeracy and provision of accelerated learning opportunities.
  • We have Playgroup on site, one morning a week during term time for children 0-4 years who are not attending pre-school along with their parent/carer.
  • Average class size is 20 in our Reception classes, 25 for Years 1-6 classes.
  • Extra-curricula sports programs including swimming, athletics, cross country, netball, soccer, football, touch football and cricket.
  • We hold an annual School Sports Carnival and are involved in many Inter-school sporting carnivals.
  • For the students who are interested in the Arts, we have a School Choir, Rock Band and extensive Instrumental Music Program.
  • Annual school camps from Year 3.
